Abstract

The average cost of cultivation was estimated as Rs.22300.08 and Rs.14975.34 per hectare respectively for irrigated and unirrigated wheat. The average net return per hectare was estimated Rs. 29181.25 and Rs 12039.66 for irrigated and unirrigated wheat respectively. The relative profitability of irrigated and unirrigated wheat shows that irrigated wheat is more profitable than unirrigated wheat therefore, it is necessary to motivate the farmers for cultivation of wheat crop on fairly better soil and introduction of wheat in irrigated farming system.
