Maximum proportion of rural population depends on agriculture in India. India is known as the land of farmers. In the past, farmers were mainly self reliant with favorable weather conditions and low inputs costs. Now they are regularly facing crop losses due to natural disasters, besides the effect of market fluctuations involving farm products, climatic change and consequential so called green house effect. Hence, there is the need for crop insurance to support the farmers and their family of dreadful in conditions. The present study intends to explore the awareness level of farmers about the sources of information regarding crop insurance. The study try to trace out the impact of education associated with the sources of information used by the sampled population. The findings of the study revealed that the lack of better education is the main hurdle in getting information from different and technology based sources. The study further revealed that awareness about the sources of information about crop insurance low among the respondents.
