The cluster frontline demonstration (CFLDs) on chickpea was conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ajmer in a village namely Rampura of Silora panchayat samiti during the rabi season of 2015–16. The results revealed that improved seed of GNG-1581+ seed treatment (Trichoderma viridi 5 gm/kg + Rhizobium sp. 25 g/kg + PSB 25 g/kg) + balanced dose of fertilizer with appropriate plant protection measures recorded average highest yield 20.05 q/ha followed by 14.60 q/ha in control plot. The same trend was found in case of average gross and average net monetary returns, which was Rs. 96080/-and Rs. 72518/-ha and for control Rs. 70080/-and Rs. 48286/-ha, respectively. Benefit cost ratio for demonstration and control field was 4.07 and 3.22, respectively. The overall performance of improved variety along with good agricultural practices motivated FLD farmers to use the produce as seed in subsequent seasons. Farmers of CFLDs sold 90 q seed of variety GNG-1581 of chickpea to 60 farmers of nearby 6 villages and sowing was done in approximately 146 ha area during Rabi 2016–17.
