Abstract

Climate-smart agriculture is an integrated approach to managing landscape cropland, livestock, forests and fisheries--that address the interlinked challenges of food security and climate change. This paper examines the principles and practices in climate smart agriculture. It outlines the mode of achieving sustainable food and agriculture production through climate smart agriculture practices, practical approach to climate smart agriculture and the three pillars of climate smart agriculture. This paper makes a special note on climate smart agriculture practices and climate smart agriculture scenario in India. This paper concludes with some interesting findings along with policy suggestions.
