Abstract

Defense wounds are the injuries sustained by the victim as he/she is trying to instinctively protect/defend himself/herself against an attack of the assailant. The nature, site, and distribution of such injuries are circumstance-dependent. Even gunshot wounds may be designated as defensive in character depending upon the circumstance. At occasions, rare presentation of such injuries may be demonstrable on the accused too.
