Alprazolam a commonly abused benzodiazepine can be used as an agent for suicide. As is evident from the study, the popularity of drug as suicidal agent is more in females than in males. Failure to achieve goals, domestic problems,break in interpersonal relationships are the main motivating factors. Ease of availability of drug and negative role of media appear to be the main contributing factors.
