Abstract

Chlormequat is a plant growth regulator that regulates the growth of plants. Chlormequat chloride is available in Indian market with various trade names in form of 50% S.L. and the chemical composition consists of chlormequat chloride (based on 97% w/w) 51.550% w/w and distilled water 48.450% w/w. While fatalities due to insecticides are reported frequently, only two case-reports are published regarding fatal chlormequat intoxication. A 33 year old male was brought to private hospital with history of deliberate consumption of chlormequat compound about 2 to 3 hours prior. In this case report we had described the autopsy findings.
