Cadavers are used in Medical Colleges after embalming for dissection by Medical Students. As our institute is receiving excess of Cadavers by Voluntary Donation, so we thought of utilizing the cadavers in ways other than embalming. Dissections on un-embalmed Fresh Bodies were done for First Year MBBS students and Postgraduate students of Surgery, OBG and Pathology. Material and Methods: Retrospective analysis of data maintained in body donation register in respect of utilizations of Body was collected and analyzed over a period of 3,5 years. Conclusions: Surgical Skills can be enhanced by exposing the residents to fresh body dissections. First year MBBS students also felt enhancement in learning of Anatomy after visualizing fresh body dissections.
Fresh Un-embalmed Cadavers, Enhancement of Surgical skills and Anatomy knowledge
