Introduction: Sex determination from human skeletal remains plays a very important role for establishing the identity of the subject.
Aims & Objective: Present study was conducted to determine sex by using measurements of the upper end of Radius among Western Rajasthan Population.
Matrerial & Method: Fifty adult human radii of known sex available in the Department of Anatomy, Dr. S. N. Medical College & associated groups of hospitals, Jodhpur, Rajasthan were used for the present study. Out of 50 bones 25 were of male and 25 were of female. Five measurements of radius were statistically analyzed.
Results: A highly significant relationship (p<0.0001) was observed in the mean value of all parameters between male and female long bones studied. Among the five variables, highest relative significance was shown by Maximum Head Diameter (t= 9.986). Accuracy of the five Radial measurements ranged from 86% to 92%. The highest percentage of accuracy were recorded in the maximum head diameter of the radius (92%), followed by vertical radial head height and circumference at radial tuberosity (90%).
