Abstract

Short tandem repeat (STR) profiles generated from 1160 individuals generated by the Identifiler plus PCR amplification kit were screened for variant alleles not represented within the manufacturer's provided allelic ladder. A total of ten (10) distinct variants were observed at 2 of the 15 loci namely D13S317 & FGA. These alleles strengthen the genetic evidence in trouble some cases & increase the range of alleles.
