Abstract

Introduction: Fire has been one of the major discovery of mankind. It give us comfort and major tool for survival but it also took life of 3 lakh/year only in South Asia region. Most of the burn cases are due to inflammable agents at home, clothing's, majorly seen in domestic settings.

Material and Methods: Present study done during January 2016 to December 2018 in NBMC & H Darjeeling to know epidemiological factors and access the risk factors involved in fatal burn injuries.

Results: We found highest no of fatality due to burn is seen in married, female of20-30 year age group. Flame burn is main culprit and most fatal burn was seen in > 40% TBSA.
