A ten-year-old boy hanging himself after being raped: A case report

There is little information regarding sexual abuse in children that might help identify those at a high risk of suicide. A ten-year-old boy was found dead while hanging himself in his room. Upon opening the door, his mother saw this scene. Crime scene investigation was performed for him, and her parents reported that the kid had no emotional instabilities or psychological problems. The first possible reason was that the suicide might have been caused by watching crime movies. Medico-legal examinations attributed the death to suicide. The signs of anal rape (new trauma) were observed in the dead body. Evidence suggested that he had hanged himself after being abused. Suicidal ideation should be seriously considered. Detailed forensic examinations could exactly determine the cause of crime.
