Abstract

The Fingerprints are used for identification. Fingerprints are actually the friction ridge impressions. Sixteen point of similarity in ridge minutiae characters is sufficient for individual identification. The fingerprint are analyzed, compared, evaluated and verified. Most important ridge pattern are ridge ending and bifurcation which are analyzed. Errors occurred in fingerprint comparison. Artificial fingerprint can deceive the fingerprint sensor machine. The fingerprint can be altered by scars, grafting, injuries etc.
