Facial investigation is always first steps to examine a person for aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of a face. The present study was based on facial anthropometry that carries the significance of identifying the individuals belonging to different ethnic groups in the local population.
Our study was performed to identify all the required facial parameters in different communities of Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, to differentiate the pure race from other.
The present study was conducted on 900 study subjects aged 18 to 40yrs, divided into three study groups i.e. Tribal, Non-tribal local population and migrants (n=3 00 each). Measurements of all the facial parameters were performed on the face of the subjects by means of a digital Vernier calliper with the nearest 0.01 mm accuracy in Frankfurt position.
The results of present study revealed that statistically important differences (p-value < 0.05) were noticed between both genders as well as different communities of Solan district.
