Conversion disorders are one of the most commonly encountered psychiatric disorders. The presenting symptoms/signs are unusual than commonly found in the psychiatric practice. There may be a number of skeleto-muscular presenting or emerging complaints, without any organic/ neurological pathophysiology. Multiple modalities of treatment have been tried with variable success, especially in chronic cases.
We are presenting such a case, where the conventional multimodal treatment was not successful in relieving the symptoms, so the less commonly used modality of ‘narcoanalysis’ was tried with substantial success. In such cases, narcoanalysis appears to be a promising modality.
