Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is well known for being a life saving procedure, especially in cases of cardiac arrest. But, once the normal rhythm is brought back and circulation maintained, the patient may in fact die out of the complications arising out of injuries sustained during the CPR. Every now and then, the emphasis is given to the importance of CPR, it is even a mandatory part of the UG curriculum in all medical as well as paramedical courses, but, seldom do they emphasise on the technique. Bringing back the normal rhythm while fatal visceral injuries are sustained is equally dangerous as not having a normal rhythm.
