Abstract

The studies were conducted to see the compatibility of Verticillium lecanii with the different chemical pesticides and effect of these pesticides on dry mycelial weight. Nine different chemical pesticides viz., Monocrotophos 35 EC (0.06%), Dimethoate 30 EC (0.03%), Methyl dematon 25 EC (0.025%), Thiometon 25 EC (0.25%), Mancozeb 65 WP (0.5%), TMTD 75 WP (Thiram 0.2%), Carbendazim 50 WP (0.1%), Copper oxychlo-ride (0.3%) and streptocyclin (200 ppm) were tested. Out of these, Streptoeyclin was found most compatible with V, lacanii, it gave maximum (61.60 mm) mycelial growth at 20 days after incubation and reduction in dry mycelial weight (9.51%) followed by methyl dematon, thiometon and dimethoate. Pesticide monocrotophos, mancozeb and TMTD (Thiram) were incompatible with the bioagent. Dry mycelial weight reduction was at the extent of 100 per cent.
