Abstract

Ten promising fungal isolates obtained form rhizosphere soil of different crops grown in Marathwada region were tested for their efficacy in managing wilt of pigeonpea in pot culture study. Carrier based inoculants of antagonistic fungal organisms were treated to seeds of pigeonpea variety ICP - 2376 @ 4 and 8 g/kg of seeds. Seeds were sown in sick soil. The fungal isolates delayed wilting of pigeonpea as compared to control. Promising isolates include Aspergillus flavus (isolate 15), Paealomyces varioti, Hormiscium sp. and A. fumigatus (isolate 8). In general, higher dose of inoculants was more effective than lower dose.
