Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at farmer's field near Neermanvi of Raichur district, Karnataka during kharif 2007 to evaluate different organic practices in the management of major foliar diseases of paddy viz., leaf blast, sheath blight, bacterial leaf blight and grain discolouration. The results indicated, that, there was a gradual reduction in per cent disease index (PDI) in all the treatments over control. However, treatment supplemented with FYM (farm yard manure) at 10 t/ha + Green manure (Glyricidia) at 5 t/ha + Neem cake (soil application) at 375 kg/ha + Trichoderma harzianum (soil application) at 130 kg/ha + Trichoderma harzianum (soil application) at 130 kg/ha + Beejamrutha (root dip) at 125 1/ha + NSKE five per cent (foliar spray) + Pseudomonas fluorescens at 2 g/1 (foliar spray) was found superior over other treatments with lowest PDI for all the major diseases.
