Abstract

Antagonistic fungi. are very important not only in agriculture- but also in remedial of pollution. Trichoderrna species were. isolated from the soil sample, collected from the agriculture field in Amravati district. Identification of the Trichoderrna flavofusium and Trichoderma. viride was done on the basis of morphological methods including macroscopic and microscopic characters and were confirmed by ITCC, 1ARI, New Delhi. Secondary metabolites releasedfrom the Trichoderma species were tested in culture medium against plant pathogenic fungi (Aspergillus ochraceus). Antibacterial activity of secondary metabolites was also demonstrated against gram + ve and gram -ve bacteria. Trichoderma metabolites have near about similar fungi static effect on the growth of A. ochraceus. The inhibition varied depending on the Trichoderrna sp. producing the metabolites from 20.65 to 18.54% in volatile, 14.04 to 31.08% in non-volatile of Trichoderma viride. Meanwhile, 17.53 to 39.04% in volatile and 9.40 to 16.26% in non-volatile of Trichoderma flavofusium.
