Eight promising bacterial isolates obtained from rhizosphere soil of different crops grown in Marathwada and Western Maharashtra regions were tested for their efficacy in managing wilt of pigeonpea in pot culture study. For this, carrier based inoculants of antagonistic bacterial organisms were treated to seeds of pigeonpea variety 1CP 2376 @ 4.0 and 8.0 g/kg of seeds. Treated seeds were sown in sick soil. Observations indicated that, bacterial isolates delayed wilting of pigeonpea as compared to control. Promising isolates include Pseudomonas sp. (B1), B10 and B13.
