Abstract

Two organic amendments were tried i.e. soybean cake, neem cake along with sugarcane bagasse at different concentrations. The highest per cent reduction (16.80) in carbon content after cultivation was found in sugarcane bagasse +6% neem seed cake, followed by 14.56% in sugarcane bagasse + 3% soybean cake. The lowest per cent carbon reduction 6.42% was found in bagasse +1% neem seed cake. The highest per cent nitrogen increase 281.33% was observed in sugarcane bagasse + 3% soybean cake followed by 275.67% in sugarcane bagasse + 5% soybean cake and lowest i.e. 2 33.33% in sugarcane bagasse + 1% neem seed cake. Overall highest reduction in C:N ratio of substrate after P. sajor-caju cultivation was found in sugarcane bagasse + 6 % soybean cake (54.50:1) followed by (51.33:1) in sugarcane bagasse + 1 % soybean cake. However, lowest ratio (39.33:1) was found in sugarcane bagasse + 6 % neem seed cake.
