Two isolates of Trichoderma sp, viz, Trichoderma viride and Trichoderma harzianum were selected for intensive studies on the basis of their in vitro antagonistic activity towards Rkizoctania bataticola, the inducer of chickpea dry root rot. On microscopic examination, these fungal antagonists were found parasitic on Rhizoctonia bataticola as evidenced by coiling, penetration, disintegration and overlapping on germinating sclerotia as well as hyphae of the pathogen.
