An investigation of mycofkora, pathogenicity and effect on primary metabolites on diseased and healthy material of periwinkle. Sixteen fungal species belonging to two genera namely Colletotrichum dematium, Alternaria alternata, Cercospora sp., Fusarium oxysporum, F, moniliforme, Myrothecium roridum, Melanconium oblangum, Verticillium dahliae, Cladosporium cladosporioides, Chaetomium globosum, Stachybotrys chartarum, Curitngamella elegcms, Phoma glomerata, Pestaliopsis macrotricha, Nigrospora oryzae and Rhizopus stolonifer were isolated from disease leaf material. The disease materials were collected from in and around Kuvempu university campus, ThammadihallL Sondekola, Nandhipura and Godabanahal. The disease materials were also obtained from field, near temple, ornamental field. The collected material is brought to the plant pathology laboratory in sterile cloth bags. Pathogenecity test was conducted to Colletotrichum dematium and Alternaria alternata these pathogens shows similar symptoms. The primary metabolites like total proteins, total carbohydrates, starch and crude lipids are lesser in diseased leaves.
Periwinkle, Pathogenecity, Primery metabolites, Colletotrichum dematium.
