Abstract

Nine-different methods of Isolation and detection were evaluated in vitro against Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. vesicatoria of chilli. Nutrient agar method and Powered seed suspension method was found significantly superior over the rest of the methods from sterilized and unsterilized seeds of chilli. The different antibiotics were tested against Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. vesicatoria by poisoned food techniques in in vitro. Significantly least growth of yellow colonies of bacteria was recorded in the streptocycl in concentration at 250 ppin showing inhibitory effect on seedborne bacterium Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. vesicatoria Next best in order of merit was aureofungin 100, Plantomycin and bactasan at 250 ppm concentration.
