Abstract

The method of inoculations exerted significant influence on the development of chilli bacterial leaf spot caused by Xanthomonas axanopodis pv. vesicatoria. Five methods of inoculation technique were carried out in vitro against Xanthomonas axanopodis pv. vesicatoria of chilli. There was fast development or more expression of bacterial leaf spot was observed in injection inoculation and pin-prick inoculation method as compared to smear inoculation technique, spray inoculation technique and soil inoculation technique in chilli cv. G4, JCA 283, Pusa jwala and Phule joyti. It was also observed that 15 days and 12 days after inoculation revealed maximum percentage of bacterial leaf spot expression on chilli seedlings by each inoculation techniques.
