Six promising bacterial isolates obtained from rhizosphere soil of different crops grown in Marathwada and Western Maharashtra regions were tested for their efficacy in managing wilt of safflower in pot culture study. Carrier based inoculants of antagonistic fungal organisms were treated to seeds of safflower variety Manjira @ 4 and 8 g/kg of seeds and the seeds were sown in sick soil. The bacterial isolates delayed wilting of safflower as compared to control. Promising bacterial isolates include Pseudomonas sp. (B6), B1, Pseudomonas sp. (B5) and B4. In general, higher dose of inoculants was more effective than lower dose.
