Reaction of soybean genotypes against rust

Soybean genotypes were evaluated for their reaction to rust during 2006–2007 and 2007–08, under artificial epiphytotic condition in glass house at RWRRS, Mahabaleshwar. During 2006–2007 different genotypes exhibited resistant and susceptible reactions. The genotypes Ee 241780, Ee 456573(A), Ee 456580, Ee 427283, Ee 481454, Ee 457172, Ee 481441 and Ee 457266 were showed resistant reaction while Ee 241778, MAUS 308 and AMS 353 were found moderately resistant. During the year 2007–2008: none of the genotype was found resistant, while 3 were moderately resistant. These genotypes are being utilized in resistance breeding programme of soybean against rust.
