Abstract

Chilli seeds of varieties OVC101 and OVC111 were collected from five different locations viz., Anand, Achhaliya, Deesa, Jagudan and Thasara. Standard agar plate method was found more effective as total sixteen fungal species was isolated by this method as compared to eight fungal species in standard blotter method after three and one month storage. There was increase in frequency and types of fungi as the storage period increased in both the methods. Seed samples of chilli varieties of different locations showed a varied level of incidence of mycoflora. Most dominant fungi noticed were Aspergillus niger, A. flavus, Alternaria alternata, Fusarium monilifonne and Penicillium sp.
