Abstract

Seed dressing fungicide, metalaxyl was found significantly superior over rest of fungicides tested in improving the germination (%). The effect of damping off was more pronounced when different biocontrol agents tested; Trichoderma hamatum allowed maximum germination of Pusa Jwala in sick soil and was statistically at par with metalaxyl seed treatment. Rest of the biocontrol agents were statistically inferior and were at par with the untreated control. However, the different botanical revealed that GRE (Ginger Rhizome Extract) and TRE (Turmeric Rhizome Extract) were significantly superior in suppressing the growth of P. ultimum over rest of botanicals and control.
