Abstract

Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moench) also known as lady's finger is most delicious vegetable relished world over. It was affected by several fungal, bacterial and viral diseases. Among fungal disease, powdery mildew caused by E.cichoracearum DC an important disease occurs throughout Karnataka and India. Hence, the roving survey of powdery mildew of okra was carried out in four districts of North Eastern Karnataka viz., Raichur, Gulbarga, Yadgir and Koppal during late kharif season of 2011–12. Maximum disease severity was recorded in Gulburga (55.07%) followed by Koppal (53.43%) and Yadgir (51.65%) districts where okra crop was grown under irrigated condition.
