The present investigation was carried out an occurrence of diseases and insect -pest population during Rabi season 2009–10 and 2010–11. The happening of all diseases and population of insect-pests/100 leaves was highest in the variety K. Ashoka followed by K. Jyoti and lowest K. Puskar during 2009–10 and 2010–11 respectively, at standing stage of potato crop. However, during the harvest stage only pitted and russet type symptoms of common scab disease was maximum in tubers of potato variety K. Ashoka followed by K. Jyoti and minimum in K. Puskar during both the years. The population of insect-pests/100 tubers of potato was maximum in above said verities during 2010–11. Whereas, population of different insect-pests like as cut worm, mole cricket, potato tuber moth (PTM) and white grubs was not seen during 2009–10 in any potato varieties. Nevertheless, present investigation the potato varieties K. Puskar followed by K. Surya and K. Pukhraj was noticed greatest against occurrence of diseases and insect-pests population at standing crop as well as harvest stage. Until now, these varieties may be considered for commercial cultivation in NEH region of India.
