Abstract

Survey was conducted to study the pigeonpea wilt incidence in Maharashtra. The results indicated that maximum incidence of 13.66% was observed in Vidharbha region, followed by Marathwada and maximum severity of wilt upto 90 per cent was recorded in Marathwada region (6 districts). Four isolate I6, I7, I9 and 10 out of twenty were found nonpathogenic. Maximum growth was on Richard's liquid medium than PDA and wide variability was observed among the isolates with respect to mycelial growth, spore size, mycelial width, colony pigmentation. The average size of macro and micro conidia was varied from 23.80 – 37.26 x 3.10 – 5.52 μm and 6.10 – 9.67 x 2.65 – 4.35 μm with absence of macro-conidia in two isolates.
