Impact of free distribution of laptops in Tamil Nadu

To uplift the poor, welfare schemes with different nature are being implemented by the government as a welfare state. Many of the welfare schemes are considered as almost investment in human development. The investment in human being will be viewed as an investment for growth and development. Tamil Nadu is a pioneer in implementing various kinds of welfare schemes. Since this scheme of Free Distribution of Laptops is individual oriented, there is a real need to evaluate the level of employability, learning ability, communication skills, connectivity with the world and stakeholder's participation and their empowerment. !gainst this background, the present study attempts to analyse the impact of this scheme in the life style of the stakeholders’.
