Abstract

Postmodernism has been very important development in social sciences. It has critically analyzed the limitations and pitfalls of Modernity, particularly over-emphasis on Rationalism. It is an attack on the egoistic claims of superiority inherent in contemporary knowledge system. Constructivism is a mediator between reason and emotion and takes middle way between subjectivity inherent in Postmodernism and objectivity deeply rooted in Enlightenment tradition. The paper aims to analyze the shortfalls in Postmodern theory from Constructivist lens, while appreciating the efforts of Postmodernism in opening new vistas of knowledge in Social Sciences. The analysis has been made in the context of contemporary times when technology is expanding at an exponential scope and there is need for creative engagement between different approaches. This will enable us to properly understand the impact and implication of technological development. The paper aims to understand the political dimensions of technological growth.
