Students’ Responses to the Teaching of Undergraduate Courses in the College of Agriculture, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana

The study was undertaken to evaluate students responses towards the teaching of course units at various levels in the College of Agriculture, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. The sample comprised of 408 students studying 200, 300 and 400 series course units. Teaching and evaluation of 200 series course units were perceived comparatively better than 300 and 400 series courses with respect to standard of subject matter taught, suitability of examples to local conditions, satisfaction with the number of laboratory/field practicals, favourable opinion about setting of question papers, objectivity in awarding grades and sympathetic behaviour towards students. On the other hand teachers teaching 400 series course units were rated at the top so far as the handling and coverage of course content, explanation of subject matter, extent and level of understandability of subject matter was concerned.
