Attitude of Farmers Towards Veterinary Clinic of the Punjab Agricultural University

The study revealed that most of the farmers who visited the clinic with their diseased animals were young, had medium level of education, had more than 6 acres of land and their family income was upto Rs. one lakh annually. A larg majority of the respondents had taken dairy as an enterprise and thirty two percent of them owned more than ten dairy animals. Further, it was found that 52% of the respondents who visited the clinic came from a distance of less than 50 Km. The satisfaction of the respondents with respect to clinic facilities and behaviour of veterinary doctors was also seeked. It was found that 88 per cent of the respondents were satisfied with the facilities available and 93.33 per cent and 96 per cent of them were satisfied with the availability of the veterinary doctors and their behaviour respectively. For making improvements in functioning of the veterinary clinic, 56.66 per cent of the respondents suggested better lodging facilities for attendants/animal owners followed by availability of the medicine store in the clinic (45.33%) and better ambulatory facilities (20%).
