The participation of rural women in different dairy management practices was examined in this study. The data revealed that the participation of majority of women was high in activities such as cleaning of cattle shed, giving water & feed to animals, preparing feed at home, milking of animals, processing of milk into ghee, making cow dung cakes & care of animals at the time of delivery. However it was found to be low for activities namely disinfecting the cattle shed, bringing fodder from farm, dehorning and deworming of calves. Thus there is a need to organise training programme to stimulate higher participation of women in dairy farming so that women become economically more independent.
