Loan Associated Constraints of Integrated Rural Development Programme Women Beneficiaries

Abstract

The findings of the study conducted in Kandi area of Nawanshahar district on 80 respondents, the beneficiaries of IRDP, revealed that the adopters of the income generating activities had improved their physical heath (87%), gained confidence (28%) and they had no time for relaxation (66%). More than fifty percent of the respondents repaid the loan within the stipulated time. Loan-associated problems faced by the respondents were: number of visits had to be made to procure the loan, each visit demanded lot of time and money. The respondents expressed that loan amount was insufficient (82%) interest rate was high (87%) and repayment of the loan was difficult (61%).
