A study was conducted to determine some engineering properties of six varieties of wheat grown in Punjab. The physical properties viz. size, sphericity, true density, bulk density and porosity of PBW-226, PBW-34, HD-2329, PB-138, PDW-215 and WH-542 of wheat at a moisture content range of 5.5 to 26.6% (wb) were determined. The size and sphericity increased with an increase in moisture content but densities decreased with an increase in moisture content. The porosity increased for some varieties and decreased for some with increasing moisture content. The max. bulk density was found in PB-226 at 6% moisture content. The frictional properties like angle of repose, coefficient of internal and external friction were found out for PBW-226, PBW-34 and HD-2329 at a moisture range of 5.5 to 25% (wb). All these three properties showed an increasing trend with increased moisture content.
