Identification of Indigenous Practices in Dairy Farming

Abstract

With respect to identification of indigenous practices and their scientific validation the findings reported that forty indigenous practices were being used by the respondents for the cure of various diseases of milch animals. Out of these practices only twelve practices were found to be scientific as expressed by the experts. Local availability, cheap, easy to use, no side effect and a family practice were main reasons mentioned by the respondents for using these indigenous practices.
