The present investigation was conducted to study the clothing requirements of young women with a limb handicap and to design suitable garments for them. Five respondents were purposively selected for the case study. Age of incidence of disability of majority of respondents was from birth uptil one year. Majority of respondents used support for movement. Based on the individual needs of each of the respondents, a total of 20 garments having special features to cater to their individual clothing requirements were made. The features included easy to use fasteners, large necklines, opening for incontinence, unequal front and back length of garments, increased flare of upper and lower garments, reinforcement at underarms, crotch and in the kunda of salwar. The acceptability of constructed garments was assessed on a suitability index and most of the garments were found to be highly acceptable.
