Abstract

The present studies relating to floral morphology and flowering behaviour were conducted on 5-year-old, ten different guava genotypes namely, Bangalore Seedling Selections (6/10, 6/12, 17/7). Sardar Seedling Selections (4/10, 4/12, 6/8), Hisar Surkha, Hisar Safeda, Dharwad and Sardar (as check). Flower size in term of diameter was found to be the largest in Sardar, with the smallest in 6/10, 4/10, Dharwad and Hisar Surkha. The highest stamen number were found in 17/7, with the lowest in 4/10. All the genotypes commenced their flowering in the first fortnight of September in the winter season and in the second fortnight of April in the rainy season but Dharwad commenced late flowering, with the minimum duration of flowering during both the seasons. However, the duration was the maximum in 6/12 in winter season and 6/12, 6/8,4/10 and Hisar Sufeda in the rainy season.
