Experiment was conducted during 2001–2002 in the College Orchard, Department of Horticulture, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. Rough lemon (Citrus jambhiri Lush) seedlings of uniform size were transplanted in 14” x, 8.5” size, 250 gauze black polythene bags during April, 2001. One set of the seedlings was placed in screen house, whereas, another set was placed in the open field conditions. The observations on growth parameters i.e. plant height, stem diameter, leaf number and leaf size were recorded at fortnightly interval starting from 1^st August 2001 to 1^st March, 2002. Maximum plant height (99.83 cm) and stem diameter (9.15 mm) of seedling was found under screen house conditions on 1^st March. Maximum leaf size to the extent of 2777.7 mm² was recorded under screen house conditions on 1st November with highest leaf number (113.9) on 1^st December.
