An experiment to study the optimum harvesting time of arbi was conducted at Students’ Farm, Department of Agronomy and Agrometeorology, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana during 2000 and 2002 on sandy loam soil. The treatment consisted of six harvesting dates from July 5 to Sept. 20 at 15 days interval. During 2002, two additional harvesting dates of Oct 5 and Oct 20 were also included. The study revealed that Colocacia esculenta L harvested on Sept. 5 produced the maximum fresh corm yield. The number of corm and weight of corms improved with delay in harvesting whereas the plant height and number of leaves per plant decreased.
