The lipids were extracted from the blood plasma and the different reproductive organs often female buffaloes with ovaries in the luteal phase, obtained from Saharanpur (U.P) abattoir. The ovarian tissue contained the highest concentration of total lipids, triglycerides and phospholipids. The uterus and oviduct had comparable concentration of total lipids, triglycerides, free fatty acids, glycolipids and phospholipids. The total lipids, triglycerides and phospholipids were significantly lower in oviduct and uterine tissue as compared to the ovaries. The cervix and vagina contained the lowest concentration of total lipids, cholesterol, triglycerides, glycolipids and phospholipids.
