An investigation was carried out at farmers fields of Ludhiana-Moga (2001–02) and Faridkot-Ferozepur-Moga regions (2002–04) in south-western Punjab under All India Coordinated Research Project on Cropping Systems (on-farm research), to study the comparative performance of different crops and cropping systems under assured input conditions. The results revealed that rice-gobhi sarson - summer moong was identified to be the most productive and remunerative with rice equivalent yield of 135.6 q/ha and 128.8 q/ha and profitability of 103.2 and 92.4 Rs/ha/day at Ludhiana-Moga and Faridkot-Ferozepur -Moga region, respectively. However, rice-wheat found to be the most stable cropping system (stability index 0.92) at Ludhiana-Moga region, while rice-gobhi sarson -summer moong (stability index 0.85) was more suitable for Faridkot-Ferozepur -Moga region from stability point of view.
