Efficacy of agrochemicals for the control of citrus canker in kinnow Mandarin

Citrus canker [Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. citri (Hasse) Vauterin] is one of the serious diseases affecting kinnow mandarin and sweet oranges in Punjab. Field experiment was conducted for its better control at PAU, Regional Station, Abohar during the years 2004, 2005 and, 2006. The agrochemicals were sprayed at 20 days interval on the two years old Kinnow mandarin starting from end July to October. Bacterinashak and Streptocycline, proved most effective in reducing the incidence of citrus canker. However, Bacterinashak was superior over the other tested agrochemicals, namely copper oxychloride 50 WP, Bordeaux mixture and streptocycline.
