Engineering properties of SL 744 cultivar of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) were evaluated as a function of moisture content. In the moisture range of 10–18% w.b., length of the rewetted seed increased from 6.39 to 6.68 mm, while width, thickness, geometric mean diameter and sphericity ranged from 5.35 to 5.45 mm, 4.47 to 4.69 mm, 5.35 to 5.55 mm and 0.85 to 0.83, respectively. Bulk density decreased from 620.91 to 592.60 kg/m3, on the other hand, true density, thousand kernel weight and porosity increased from 1110.41 to 1271.52 kg/m3, 90.15 to 97.50 g and 51.94 to 55.77%, respectively. Hardness and initial cracking force decreased from 164.17 to 137.30 N and 98.10 to 51.08 N. The static coefficient of friction varied from 0.63 to 0.74 for different surfaces, while the angle of repose varied from 20.87 to 27.74 for seed. Lightness (L), a value (red-green axis) and b value (yellow-blue axis) of seed decreased from 60.35 to 53.99, 7.06 to 6.70, and 16.33 to 12.07, respectively.
