Studies in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh were undertaken to assess the status of micro-nutrients in soils and plants of mango orchards, located in Fatehpur, Nurpur and Indora blocks to establish the relationships between soil and leaf nutrient status. Nutrient index values revealed that the soils were high in available copper (Cu) and manganese (Mn), but 25, 25, 60 and 20 per cent soils were low in available zinc (Zn), iron (Fe), Boron (B) and molybdenum (Mo), respectively. Foliar analysis indicated that 20, 60 and 40 per cent samples were low in Zn, B and Mo, respectively and 50 per cent samples were high in Fe. Deficiency of B was observed in all the mango orchards on the basis of soil and foliar analysis. High values of per cent coefficient of variation in soil and plant nutrient status may be due to variations in parent material and orchard management practices.
